Newlands Corner, Revised Play Trail Proposals
In September 2015 Surrey County Council and Surrey Wildlife Trust appointed Davies White Landscape Architects to engage and develop designs to introduce a nature play trail along the existing woodland path at Newlands Corner.
Following two consultation events Davies White went away and revised the design proposals. These Option Two proposals (presented below) now feature five, not ten hand crafted log play items. Each positioned carefully along the footpath in existing open glades, which have been approved by Surrey Wildlife Trust. The revised proposals include the refurbishment of the existing playground, which is positioned between the café and toilets. An Option Three approach would be to refurbish the existing playground and only add educational way marker posts in the woodland. All proposals would include the repair of the existing footpath.
April 2016 - Statement from Surrey County Council:
“Surrey County Council has received a lot of feedback on the Newlands Corner proposals, which they are now considering.
Feedback on the comments they have received along with the revised project approach will be shared soon. In the meantime thank you to everyone who took the time to respond.”
